Gromit Unleashed!
In 2011, Bristol had the WOW Gorillas, and I spent a summer on the trail of all 60. This summer, its Gromits - and there's 80 of them! It is all in aid of the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal charity - a charity that raises money for Bristol Children's Hospital.
It is also a fantastic way to explore the city and it's amazing how many people you meet on route. The statues of Gromit are all designed by different artists and sponsored by local businesses. There are some really famous celebrities who have designed a Gromit - Jools Holland, Zayn Malik (I believe he is from Wrong Direction....oops sorry, One Direction) and Joanna Lumley to name a few.
In October, the Gromits will be auctioned off to raise money for the charity - and should go for a great deal if the WOW Gorillas are anything to go by.
I'll blog here along the way when I find each Gromit and hopefully you non-Bristolians will be able to join in the fun and enjoy the Gromit trail.
